Mezzo-soprano, Winnie Wilson Goree, teaches private voice students in her studio in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Goree has more than twenty five years of teaching experience. She received her masters degree from Wichita State University. Her teachers and coaches have included Janet
Yenne, Irene Callaway Harrower, George Gibson, Vernon Yenne and Walter Huff. Winnie continues to increase her knowledge through performing, continuing education and extensive research. Winnie dedicates this web site to The Glory of The Lord.
She has sung with organizations including The Atlanta Opera, as a fellowship award singer with The Choral Guild of Atlanta, and as a soloist with many of Atlanta's largest cathedrals and churches. She has been alto soloist for Mozart's Coronation Mass, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi Gloria, and many other major works. Winnie has toured as a soloist throughout the United States and in
Germany, and Austria. She's sung in Carnegie Hall and at Lincoln Center.
Winnie is currently active as an oratorio soloist, and recitalist. She believes that singers should have a solid foundation of vocal technique, lyric diction, musicianship, and acting skills that are vital to the art form. She passes along the skills that she has gained from her experience and education to her voice students.
Winnie teaches in an atmosphere of joyful energy using vocal literature well suited to the needs of her students. She believes that singing should be a fun and inspiring experience. Winnie teaches using comprehensive and effective techniques designed to work with your voice and music. She employs bel canto techniques of classical singing that can be applied to whatever you are
singing. You will develop an impressive repertoire of songs for all situations. She will help you develop your voice allowing you to sing with confidence and enjoyment to overcome your fears of singing in front of people. Winnie works with all levels of students ranging from beginners to advanced singers performing with opera companies. She helps students successfully prepare for
auditions, and has helped students get into colleges as voice majors. Winnie can help you find your own unique singing voice that you are meant to have. You will enjoy using your singing voice throughout your entire life.
She will help you with all of the skills that you need for your solo voice: placement, breathing, diction, song interpretation, musicianship, and strengthening of your voice. Winnie also specializes in accent reduction. Winnie offers private voice lessons for all levels. Her studio is located in N.E. Atlanta in Brookhaven - - a couple of miles North of Lenox Square. She welcomes
your inquiries about private voice lessons. Every voice lesson can be recorded directly to CD for you to take home with you. This enhances the learning process by speeding up the time it takes to develop technical skills and learn your music. Winnie offers
voice classes for her students with a professional accompanist from time to time. During these classes students receive coaching from a professional coach-accompanist, and from Winnie along with comments from other voice students. Winnie's voice students range from beginners to advanced professionals singing with opera companies in Atlanta and as church staff
singer/soloists. During you lessons you will receive help with diction, posture, technique, song interpretation, musicianship and acting to help you develop your singing voice. Winnie will work with you on songs that will help you develop as a singer, and enhance your own unique vocal qualities.
